I met Mentor via Armend (another guy I’ve been shooting) and we setup a shoot together with Simone (our MUA for the evening). I blended Mentor came to the shoot as he is and I him with background images I had shot earlier this year in Berlin. Our awesome make-up artist on the shoot was b.Perfect by Simone Zbinden (www.bperfect.ch). blog.americanpeyote.com

Lukas photographed for the Web Portraits Zurich project. Lukas runs Guzuu, and also DJs on the side. I like the idea of adding a lot of movement to his portraits to communicate the flow of thoughts that probably fly around inside hime. Light trails shot in Berlin during UXCamp 2010. The goal of Web Portraits Zurich is to give people a platform to be themselves in an artificial environment, to create portraits which present their personalities as they see themselves. More details on the shoot: A Web Portrait – Lukas Uncut Lukas - Movement DJ Portrait

Jurgita is a cool neighbor who drops by to do photo shoots sometimes. A few days after the shoot I headed to the UXCamp in Berlin, and stayed to shoot street scenes. The textures and light trails for her portrait were shot in Berlin and at an abandoned hospital. An American Peyote Scribble

Jail to the Thief - Tacheles Berlin

Berlin is one of my favorite destinations in Europe, and for me the defining place to visit is the Tacheles Art gallery. It’s in a building that was occupied by artists to save it from demolition and was then turned into an art gallery. Outside people do iron working, and create some kickass political and revolutionary as well as just fantastic stuff. I was walking around there in Oct. 2004 and they had big wood boards plastered with scans of imagery. It was all mainly anti-war stuff, as the US had invaded Iraq. I shot a lot of it with my Fuji GA645 and Contax G1 with black and white film.
